The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture & Lands invites applications for the following education roles within the Government school system for 2021/22 academic years commencing August 2021

Special Educational Needs Coordinator

The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) takes day-to-day responsibility for the operation of the Special Education Needs (SEN) Policy and co-ordination of the provision made for individual children with Special Education Needs, working closely with staff, parents, carers, and other agencies.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized institution plus Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Five years’ post qualification teaching experience, with a demonstrated track record of successful teaching and learning
  • Experience of working with multi-agency colleagues to plan and deliver for the needs of students with Substantial depth and breadth of experience of teaching children with complex Special Education Needs and or disabilities, including the ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons that accommodate students with a wide range of abilities within the special school environment
  • SEN
  • Experience of using formative and summative assessment and proven ability to interpret and act on pupil progress data
  • Previous experience working as a SENCO, in a mainstream or special school environment, preferre
