We are currently seeking applicants for the following post:

Hansard Officer

The post holder will assist the Clerk and Hansard Editors in the preparation and publication of the Official Report (Hansard) of the proceedings of the House sittings and Committees meetings of the Legislative Assembly using the Hansard Style Guide. The scope of the work falls under the categories of transcribing, production and research.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Transcribing proceedings of House Sittings and Committee Meetings
  • Proofreading transcribes
  • Creating official reports
  • Indexing of official reports
  • Hansard research

Candidates must have:

  • ‘O’ level and/or ‘A’ level passes in English Language and Comprehension, with English Literature, Geography and History being a distinct plus and 5-7 years of secretary/typist experience, or possess an Associate’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Accurate keyboarding skills and able to type 80-100 words per minute
  • Excellent vocabulary, sound knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Above average aural comprehension skills with excellent referencing and researching skills
  • Advanced Word processing skills including Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Standard
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to type for a minimum of 5 hours a day on average
  • Multi-tasking skills
